Airborne Launch Assist Space Access (ALASA)

Abstract

The ALASA program sought to make access to space more affordable by significantly reducing the cost of launch for <200 kg payloads to low earth orbit, with an ultimate goal of $1M for 50kg. In addition, the program sought to improve the responsiveness of space access by reducing the interval from call-up to launch to a single day.
