Improved Inlet Solution (IIS)
Abstract
Provides for modifications to the CV-22 propulsion system to reduce sand/dust and other particulate matter ingestion, increase engine time on wing and overall aircraft readiness/availability rates, and reduce operations and support costs. This is Air Force Special Operations Command's #1 modification priority for the CV-22 weapon system. IIS is a joint V-22 effort being developed in conjunction with the Department of the Navy.
