Battlespace Environmental Monitoring System (BEMS)
Abstract
This project is developing a system to detect radio frequency (RF) emissions in certain portions of the RF spectrum. Detection will inform the radiometer community in remote sensing programs on RF Interference sources, inform Department of Defense forces if they are being illuminated by certain unexpected RF sources and report unusual RF emission patterns that are detected in the environment. The project includes the production and fielding of a distributed set of six units to three operational naval non-combatants that operate in high risk environments.
