Damage Control Resuscitation
Abstract
This effort supports work required to validate safety and effectiveness of drugs and medical procedures to maintain metabolism and minimize harmful inflammation after major trauma. Efforts focus on blocking complement activation (a series of disease-fighting proteins and their reactions in the body) from damaging healthy cells of the body and preventing or minimizing secondary organ failure (including brain and spinal cord injury).
