Multimodal Hostile Fire Detection System

Abstract

The Multimodal Hostile Fire Detection System (MHFDS) integrated multiple hostile shot detection technologies through data fusion algorithms and ballistic models. The system conducted point-of-origin shot detection and classified threats in multi-shooter scenarios. This effort is a critical subsystem for the Rapid Reaction Technology Office’s (RRTO) Remote Weapon Station (RWS) Auto Prioritization, Targeting, and Operator Cueing (RAPTOR) project. This effort will also transition proof of principle technologies, fulfilling a requirement for the Army Ground Based Operational Surveillance System (Expeditionary) (GBOSS(E)).
