Healing Heroes

Abstract

(U) Healing Heroes will bring the power of social networking, modern information technology, and machine learning to bear on the medical problems facing America's veterans by creating the infrastructure for a social networking site where veterans can share their medical experiences and find mutual support. In addition, Healing Heroes will connect active duty service members, veterans, and their families to the military medical establishment to facilitate the flow of information between care-givers and patients. Natural language processing and advanced machine learning techniques will be implemented to quickly alert care­givers to any emerging physical or mental health crisis based on a patient's medical history and the content and nature of their social interaction. Healing Heroes will be implemented using strong information security to ensure its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
