2) Transformational Medical Technologies Initiative
Abstract
Multiagent (Broad Spectrum) Medical Countermeasures: Basic research efforts focused on the early drug discovery phase of MCM development for biological threat agents. The goal is to identify and develop brand new compounds that could lead to successful therapeutic candidates. Projects will review scientific findings and assess a foundation for characterizing new therapeutics, use computer simulation or other virtual platforms to test hypotheses and begin research, data collection, and analysis to test hypotheses to explore alternative concepts, identify and evaluate critical technologies and components, and begin characterization of MCM candidates.
