Tactical Augmented Reality for Operational Technologies - 3D Terrain

Abstract

This effort partnered with Communications - Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center, designs and exploits an innovative geospatial framework for storage, extraction, processing and visualization of high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) terrain data for tactical visualization systems, helmet-mounted, and other displays. Research results will mature technological components to enable a leap ahead in Soldier situational awareness by introducing geo-registered geospatial cues with military symbology on the Soldiers view of the real world, enabling more rapid decision making by the mounted and dismounted Warfighters.
