Design and evaluate advanced turboshaft engine component technologies to support goals of reduced fuel consumption, engine size, weight, and cost, as well as improved reliability and maintainability. Design and evaluate advanced drive system component technologies to support multi-speed transmissions, lighter weight gearboxes, and reduced costs, while improving reliability and maintainability.
