Pathogen Defeat

Abstract

Pathogens are well known for the high rate of mutation that enables them to escape drug therapies and primary or secondary immune responses. The Pathogen Defeat thrust area provided capabilities to predict emerging threats and the evolution of resistance of pathogens to medical countermeasures. Pathogen Defeat focused not only on known pathogens but also newly emerging pathogens and future evolution of mutations in these pathogens, allowing pre-emptive preparation of vaccine and therapy countermeasures.
