Basic research in environmental science
Abstract
Basic research in environmental science possesses three areas: atmospheric science research to measure, model, and theoretically understand the nighttime atmospheric boundary layer; terrestrial science research to enable the Army to operate effectively in all military operating environments by understanding fundamental terrain and land-based phenomena; and military habitation science, basic research to allow military power projection that meets operational needs in a sustainable manner.
