11) Transformational Medical Technologies Initiative
Abstract
Multiagent (Broad Spectrum) Medical Countermeasures (MCM): Builds upon basic research performed by existing performers and supports the efforts of new performers who are in the mid-drug discovery phase of drug development. Applied research efforts also include the investigation of existing drugs to explore their efficacy against BW agents. This involves the initiation of experiments to identify markers, correlates of protection, assays, and endpoints for further non-clinical and clinical studies and development of a scalable and reproducible manufacturing process amenable to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) good manufacturing processes.
