Real Property Maintenance

Abstract

This effort provides the preventive maintenance and repair necessary to sustain Kwajalein facilities and utilities in order to prevent further deterioration. Funds facilities and utilities at minimum acceptable levels to mitigate risk of catastrophic failures. Includes regularly scheduled adjustments and inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and emergency response and service calls for minor repairs. Also includes costs of major repairs or replacement of facility components that are expected to occur periodically throughout the expected service life. This work includes: regular roof replacement; refinishing wall surfaces; repairing and replacing electrical, plumbing, and cooling systems; replacing tile and carpeting; and similar types of work. Sustainment, however, is not intended to keep facilities adequately functioning beyond their expected service lives.
