Aegis BMD 6.x Development

Abstract

U.S. Navy is developing the Advance Capability Build (ACB) 20 Combat System (CS) and the Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR), now designated SPY-6, for introduction on the first DDG Flight III. . Aegis BMD 6.0 will integrate BMD 5.1 capability with the ACB 20 Combat System, to include new SPY-6 requirements; this will enable BMDS element utilization of AMDR data for remote engagements and supplement deployed assets with simultaneous multi-mission capabilities (e.g. IAMD). SPY-6 will support force-level (multi-asset) approach to raid defense and will enable U.S. Navy ships to have a greater stand-off range from threat environments. Recurring Accomplishments: - Develop CIDS, Interface Description Specifications (IDS) and all supporting engineering document and plans - Conduct trade studies and concepts supporting development - Conduct Aegis BMD low-level performance analysis supporting Interim Progress Reviews (IPR) - Continued participation in program leadership and technical forums including Program Management Team, System Engineering Cross Product Team (CPT), Capability Working Groups, Modeling & Simulation CPT, and Test, Evaluation & Certification CPT - Continue computer program development for Aegis BMD 6.0 Specific and/or unique accomplishments to each FY are as follows:
