Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) Sensorless Controls
Abstract
Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) will be the fixed wing aircraft catapult for the CVN-78 class of aircraft carriers. The program will further the development and insertion of applicable emerging technologies into EMALS capitalizing on the full capability of the system. Due to higher Department priorities, the program will cancel the EMALS Sensorless Controls project. FY 13 funds will be used for contract closeout costs.
