Aerial Port of the Future (APOF)

Abstract

APOF was a FY 2021 new start JCTD. Aerial ports and air transportation expeditionary operations are constrained by poorly performing and unlinked Information Technology (IT) systems, outdated command, control, and communications networks, and physical handling of critical classes of supply. To solve these problems, APOF will develop, integrate, and test emerging capabilities at Aerial Ports by providing a logistics common operating picture for planning, processing, and managing Joint Force cargo; an integrated automated system to manage personnel, cargo, and munitions; and man/unmanned materiel handling equipment to rapidly load sustainment to global air mobility assets. In FY 2021, APOF integrated automated port management systems and tools to synchronize operations-level planning.
