Advanced Armor and Protection Technologies

Abstract

This effort designs and develops the next generation of lightweight protective concepts and technologies for defeat of current and future threats by utilizing real-time information, combined with threat knowledge, to provide increased protection. This effort investigates the fundamental physics of new terminal effects concepts and provides an understanding of interaction between the platform's defeat mechanism and the threat . The effort also investigates the ability to analytically simulate complex threat interactions. Experiments will be conducted to validate the efficacy of the designs.
