Structural Armor

Abstract

This effort conducts applied research to design advanced lightweight structural armor technologies, such as ceramic, metallic, transparent, and electromagnetic, for transition to current and future tactical as well as combat vehicle designers. The goal is to provide designs that reduce weight while improving ballistic protection and affording multifunctional capabilities.
