AIRFRAME/SHIP CORROSION/COST REDUCTION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

This activity includes an integrated approach for the control of the effects of external and internal corrosion in Naval weapon systems as well as cost reduction technology efforts. The work develops advanced, cost effective prevention and lifecycle management technologies. This is particularly significant to life extension for the aging fleet. FY 2010 to FY 2012 funding increase is due to the initiation and ramp-up of several new EC's including corrosion related signature technologies and advanced shipboard water desalination and corrosion.
