DIRECTED ENERGY
Abstract
The goal of this activity is to develop Directed Energy (DE) technology for Navy applications. The DE program addresses the requirements of future Navy combatants to provide ship defense against the emerging threats that are proliferating throughout the Navies of the world. The Directed Energy portion of this activity consists of two elements. FY 2016 to FY 2017 decrease in funding is due to Solid State Laser Maturation Program (SSL-TM) program entering the fabrication and testing phase. Effective in 2018, the SSL-TM funding moves to the new innovative naval prototype (INP) PE - 0602792N Innovative Naval Prototypes.
