8) Reactivators of AChE as Therapeutics (ReACT)
Abstract
The Warfighter requires rapid acting MCMs to counter adverse effects from exposure to Nerve Agents (NAs) and maintain force lethality. This effort involves the development of improved therapies for acetylcholinesterase enzyme reactivation. Efforts in this area are focused on formulation development and pre-clinical studies for potential candidates that will ultimately be submitted for FDA licensure or previously licensed products for new uses in the treatment of chemical warfare casualties.
