Advanced Running Gear:

Abstract

This effort matures and demonstrates running gear components and advanced suspension technologies to increase vehicle mobility and durability in response to increased ground vehicle platform weights. Components and subsystems include new elastomer compounds, lightweight, survivable track systems and road wheels, advanced compensating track tensioners, advanced damping suspension technologies, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) systems, and preview sensing technologies linked to advanced suspension designs. Coordinated work is also being conducted under PEs 0602601A and 0603005A.
