Project Saiph

Abstract

This project will apply advanced decision concepts to more comprehensively exploit non-traditional data sets and communities of interest to establish a strategic level methodology for narrowing the area of military concern. This research effort will focus on identifying patterns in events with respect to distance to infrastructure features such as road types, buildings, bridges, market places, as well as cultural features such as tribal and ethnic boundaries. These patterns are available to provide a beginning point for informed strategic planning in an ever-evolving, complex combat environment.
