NRL Facilities Modernization
Abstract
Critical Science and Technology research cannot be sustained or succeed in deteriorated facilities. World class research can only be accomplished in facilities that are at a minimum "adequate", but preferably "state-of-the-art." Due to their advanced age and deterioration, funds are planned to restore/modernize various laboratory facilities at the Naval Research Laboratory. The FY17 and FY18 funding increases will support the restoration/modernization of Naval Research Laboratory, the Navy's world class corporate research laboratory, to ensure they can meet future technological threats. Due to advanced age and deterioration of the facilities, the increase in funding is needed to update various laboratory facilities to further the critical science and technology research for the Navy.
