Soldier-Warfighter Operationally Responsive Deployer for Space (SWORDS)
Abstract
SWORDS provides a dedicated, low cost, rapid and predictable launch of small satellites to precise, optimum orbits. Enables capability to satisfy Combatant Command’s urgent needs for augmentation of persistent imagery or communications in their Area of Responsibility. When in production, SWORDS is targeted to cost $1.000 million per launch of 25 kilogram payloads up to a 750 kilometers circular orbit from a wide variety of ranges, including austere locations.
