M&S Improvements

Abstract

This effort funds Missile Defense System Enterprise-wide M&S improvements that will enhance flight, ground, and digital test capabilities. This effort designs and develops simulation capabilities that provide assessment data (supplemental to Ground- and Flight tests) in areas that those venues cannot address. The effort includes two components: End-to-end Digital Integrated System-level Simulation (EDISS) and Ground Test Integrated System-level Simulation (GTISS). The EDISS supports digital predictive pre-mission analysis. MDA is also implementing Ground Test Re-architecture to address accreditation and assessment limitations, increased HWIL complexity and reduced available integration times. The GTISS effort will make truth data consistent, implement standard framework interfaces, and provide common data formats to correct ground test simulation inadequacies in threat uncertainty as well as debris modeling. Accomplishing these improvements includes the following: - Execute agile software development of incremental versions for continuous deliveries of enhanced EDISS/GTISS capabilities - Conduct Model Based Systems Engineering for requirements analysis, functional analysis, design and implementation - Conduct continuous integration, test and verification of incremental software versions - Conduct continuous developmental checkout of incremental software builds - Conduct in-progress reviews to assess addition of new capability and provision of project status - Perform M&S data production to support Missile Defense System Increment builds - Conduct integrated end-to-end analysis of software capabilities - Assess and implement courses of action for advanced and emerging capabilities as appropriate Specific and/or unique accomplishments to each FY are as follows:
