Microelectronics Cross Functional Team
Abstract
A Cross-Functional Team (CFT) was established effective January 2021 to develop a DoD strategy and implementation and transition plan to minimize vulnerabilities within the Department's microelectronic supply chain. The transition plan will be comprehensive, and include a budget plan. The CFT will function as an advisory body to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (USD(A&S)), and the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (USD(R&E)) in order to strengthen the domestic microelectronics Defense Industrial Base and to develop and transition leading-edge microelectronics technology into DoD systems to prepare the Department for Great Power Competition.
