Abstract

Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS-JTRS) provides real time, jam-resistant and secure information system for the transfer of combat data, voice, and navigation information between widely dispersed battle elements. MIDS-JTRS's enhanced capabilities provide concurrent multi-netting which enables Link 16 by adding capability to receive four messages in a single time slot and allows for greater network design flexibility along with concurrent receive capabilities and J-voice. The F-16 MIDS-JTRS effort is developing Ethernet connectivity within the terminal.
