Non-Lethal Vehicle Stopping

Abstract

Vehicle borne Improvised Explosive Devises IEDs (VBIED) are a significant threat to operational forces. Being able to stop a potential VBIED without harming passengers is a critical joint warfighting need. The RRF in coordination with DoD Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNWD) sought innovative solutions from companies that do not typically do business with DoD. The focus of this effort is develop methods to stop potentially hostile medium size vehicles (trucks) from approaching friendly forces in convoys and at checkpoints.
