6) Reactivators of AChE as Therapeutics (ReACT)
Abstract
The Warfighter requires rapid acting medical countermeasures (MCMs) to counter adverse effects from exposure to Nerve Agents (NAs) and maintain force lethality. Utilize modelling and structural activity relationships in order to develop prophylactics or therapeutics for acetylcholinesterase enzyme reactivation with both centrally acting and broad spectrum capabilities. Develop potential candidates that will ultimately be submitted for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensure or to identify previously licensed products for new uses in the treatment of chemical warfare casualties.
