Directed Energy Bioeffects

Abstract

This project combined two efforts into a single effort to better align the directed energy modeling simulation and analysis supporting both radio-frequency and laser bioeffects advanced demonstration. Developed and demonstrated modeling capabilities to assess collateral hazards from high power directed energy systems, including the use of probabilistic risk assessment techniques and analysis of system-level effects on the Airman. Develop and demonstrate counter directed energy weapons technologies for aircrew and ground personnel to provide protection against directed energy threats. United bioeffects and human performance models from across the Department of the Air Force in support of Digital Transformation initiatives.
