CDAO: Building Resiliency and Readiness (USD(P&R)) ADVANA
Abstract
The GAO report 18-586R on Military Aviation Mishap findings showed that there are gaps on OUSD(P&R)’s approach for collecting, reporting, and analyzing mishap data due to lack of standardized reporting elements across the military departments’ safety centers. Advana is a technology platform that not only houses a collection of enterprise data but expands the boundaries of a standard data warehouse by arming military and business decision-makers with decision support analytics, visualizations, and data tools. Advana can be an asset to the Joint Safety Council, once established, to aid in the assessment of Services’ aviation mishap data supporting improvement in aviation safety.
