PTMS Upgrade

Abstract

This is a NEW START. Current Mission System planning estimates due to Block 4 capabilities and beyond indicate that additional cooling is required for aircraft beginning in Lot 22 (FY28). This upgrade/modification consists of an upgrade to the current Honeywell PTMS that includes larger heat exchangers, shifting some systems from the cold liquid loop to the hot liquid loop, increasing system pressure, increasing pump speeds and raising compressor discharge temperatures. This modification upgrades components that are relatively low cost and already at a high technical readiness level. All PTMS changes for this level of cooling would be accomplished within the existing PTMS bay and there are not expected to be any necessary changes to the capacity of the cold liquid loop or the hot liquid loop. This work includes nonrecurring engineering for the development, test, and certification of the upgraded PTMS system to ensure suitable cooling is available for future capacities.
