COMBAT VEH SURVIVABLTY
Abstract
This project matures and demonstrates survivability technologies such as active protection systems (APS), advanced vehicle armors, and safety devices. This project focuses on integrating and demonstrating active protection technologies and vision protection to defeat optical attacks. This project looks at the integration of survivability technologies that enable entire protection suites to provide greater survivability than armor alone. The cited work is consistent with the Director, Defense Research and Engineering Strategic Plan, the Army Modernization Strategy, and the Army Science and Technology Master Plan. Work in this project is performed by the Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC), Warren, Michigan; Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Armaments Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny, New Jersey; and the Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC), Huntsville.
