Combat Vehicle Mobilty
Abstract
This project matures and demonstrates advanced mobility and electric technologies for advanced propulsion, power, and electrical components and subsystems to enable lightweight, agile, deployable, fuel efficient, and survivable ground vehicles. This project will also mature and demonstrate advanced mechanical and electrical power generation systems to ensure that future capabilities such as next generation communications and networking, improvised explosive device (IED) jamming systems and next generation sensor devices that can be integrated onto combat and tactical vehicles. Work in this project supports the Army S&T Ground Portfolio. The cited work is consistent with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering priority focus areas and the Army Modernization Strategy. Work in this project is performed by Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC), Warren, MI, in conjunction with Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Adelphi, MD.
