Telematics
Abstract
Telematics will allow the operator and owners to monitor vehicle location, hours operated, fuel consumption, and other parameters impacting maintenance and sustainment, as well as the impact to the customers through operational costs This initiative will focus on evaluating the utility, feasibility, and maintainability of utilizing vehicle telematics devices in the US Army?s fleet of Caterpillar T5 Dozers and JCB HMEE-I in the following CONUS locations: Fort Carson, Colorado and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. This will be accomplished by installing and activating the devices in ten T5 Dozers and ten HMEE-I vehicles, tracked on a daily basis, and reported on a bi-weekly basis.
