MRAP MATV Ballistic Test and Evaluation

Abstract

The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Family of Vehicles (FoV) provides Warfighters multimission platforms capable of mitigating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), underbody mines, and small arms fire threats, which are currently the greatest casualty producers in Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). Four vehicle categories (CATs) are being procured, fielded and sustained: Category I - Urban combat operations, ambulance. Catergory II- Multi-mission ops-convoy lead, troop transport, ambulance, utility vehicle. Category III- Mine/IED clearance ops, explosive ordnance disposal. Category IV - MRAP All Terrain Vehicle - Combat operations (ops) in rural, mountainous, urban terrain.
