A Plan for the Employment of an Armored Corps in the Balkans

Abstract

Primary to the development of any plan for military operations is, if not already known, the determination of who will be the enemy. This is necessary since all combat has as its purpose the destruction of the enemy and his will and means to fight. The Soviet Union is the only nation presently capable of challenging by outright aggression the economic, political, and moral leadership of the United States. Inasmuch as she currently is engaged in open conflict with the Western Prowers by all available means short of armed warfare, we can accurately consider the Soviet Union and her communist neighbors as "the enemy."
