THE PREVENTION OF EXCESSIVE LIFT FORCES ON GUIDED MISSILES

Abstract

Methods for obtaining limitations of the wing, control surface, and total lifts of a guided missile are discussed. A monitored diode system employing thresh-old feedback from an accelerometer placed ahead of the missile CG provides a method for limiting the total lift. Limitations of the peak control-surface lift by a suitable feedback of angular acceleration is suggested.
