TABLES FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE NUMBER OF EXCEEDANCES

Abstract

A discussion and numerical examples of the exceedance theory are presented. The theory is applicable to (1) nonparametric tests for slippage, (2) life testing, and (3) predicting the occurrences of floods and droughts on the basis of past data.
