DISCHARGE OF CORONA POINT CURRENT FROM AIRCRAFT

Abstract

In a system for maintaining zero electrostatic charge on aircraft, where electric field meters on the surfaces of the wings control a high-voltage corona discharge point behind the tail of the aircraft, the primary factors influencing the magnitude of blow-away discharge current i are point potential V, aircraft speed V, point geometry, and space charge from the already discharged current.
