Abstract

A description is given of the development of the following: compasses for use in heavily armored vehicles, T-58 photoflash fuse for use with a falling photoflash bomb, oximeters, a radio chronometer comparator, and fuel quantity gauges. Other discussions concern: ultrasonic signalling, jungle acoustics measurements, attenuation of sound in the atmosphere, injurious effects of exposure to loud tones and noises, high-intensity sound produced by chain explosions, and a mobile loudspeaking system for deception and decoy.
