Mechanical Properties of Selected Alloys at Elevated Temperatures. Part 2: Design Criteria of Silicon Carbide
Abstract
A study was made or nondestructively testing silicon carbide by density and density uniformity, dynamic modulus by sonic technique, X-ray diffraction under transverse load, electrical resistivity, and internal friction. Dynamic modulus of silicon carbide was experimentallydetermined at 80 F and 2200 F. Modulus of rupture tests were conducted at 80 F, 2200 F and 2400 F.
