HOT CYCLE ROTOR SYSTEM ROTOR DYNAMICS

Abstract

The predicted blade elastic resonant conditions for the Hot Cycle whirl test rotor are given. The rotor should be free of resonance within the operating range. The apparent resonance of chordwise cantilever second mode with a 6/rev exciting force in the operating range of RPM is not expected to occur. This is because the exciting forces are assumed of aerodynamic origin and, in a 3-bladed rotor, 6/rev aerodynamic forces will excite chordwise pinned modes only.
