HOT CYCLE ROTOR SYSTEM RESULTS OF COMPONENT TEST PROGRAM

Abstract

Component tests were conducted on the Hot Cycle Rotor System. The blade fatigue test, after modifications, gave a satisfactory service life. The articulate duct outboard seal test and the blade flapping-feathering bearing wear test indicated satisfactory service life with negligible wear and leakage. The two segment duct sealant test demonstrated the ability of the RTV-601 silastic rubber compound to withstand the pressure and thermal environments of the Hot Cycle Rotor System.
