RAIN EROSION. PART 5. DEVELOPMENT OF THE ARTIFICIAL RAINFIELD ON THE HIGH SPEED TRACK AT P. AND E. E. PENDINE

Abstract

This report discusses the development of the artificial rainfield for rain erosion testing at supersonic velocities on the high speed test track at the Proof and Experimental Establishment, Pendine. The selection of the nozzles used, their installation in the 500 ft long artificial rainfield, the final calibration of the complete facility are described, together with details of the equipment and operating conditions.
