An Exact Analysis of Laminar Flow in the Entrance Region of an Annular Pipe

Abstract

Nonlinear equations of laminar flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in the entrance region of an annular-pipe have been solved by an exact method. It is assumed that the velocity of the fluid is uniform at the entrance section. Velocity profiles, pressure distribution and inlet lengths have been obtained for various values of the ratio of inner and outer radii of the pipe.
