Lessons Learned, Headquarters, 1st Cavalry Division Artillery

Abstract

This report covers the period 1 November 1969 through 31 January 1970. During this period the Division Artillery supported maneuver forces in 1st Cavalry Division (AM) Operation Kentucky Cougar. The 1st Cavalry Division Artillery and supporting fire units provide fire support to 1st Cavalry Division (AM) maneuver forces within the division's assigned TAOI and take necessary action to enhance the GVN pacification effort, and to improve the effectiveness of all RVNAF elements. The 1st Cavalry Division Artillery (AM) continues to act as the maneuver headquarters for AO Chief and control the defenses of the 1st Cavalry Division (AM) base camp at Phuoc Vinh, RVN.
