Abstract

The missions assigned to the 5th SF Gp (Abn) are: to exercise Command and control so subordinate detachments; to advise and assist the Vietnamese Special Forces (VNSF) and support the Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG) Program; to provide intelligence to COMUSMACV; to conduct special operations; to conduct the MACV Recondo School; and to act as Sector/Subsector advisers as directed by COMUSMACV.
