LOGISTICAL OVER-THE-SHORE (LOTS) SYSTEMS STUDY

Abstract

The need to analytically define complex interphase relationships between the numerous elements of typical logistics-over-the-shore operations under varying operating conditions provides the basis for this study. Data related to LOTS are compiled, and decision rules for varying data in response to varying operating conditions are established. A rationale for computer simulation to test for potential improvements in LOTS productivity is developed. In addition, a method of measuring effectiveness of improvement candidates is derived.
